چکیده

d a c i m a a t s a m i t e F g PREAMBLE This credentialing document pertains to maintenance of noncoronary percutaneous interventional procedures privileges in the hospital setting. Safe and efficacious delivery of these services requires proficiency in the performance of image-guided interventions. The education, experience, and skills required to perform image-guided interventions are extensive. Many interventional radiologists have demonstrated adequate training and education to provide these services by obtaining Subspecialty Certification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from the American Board of Radiology. The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) believes that the global skill set of those practitioners who have obtained and maintain this certificate be considered strongly for maintenance of privileges for imageguided interventions. Specifically, those who have achieved and maintain that certificate should be considered qualified unless there is specific evidence in terms of outcomes of procedures that indicates competency is lacking.

Navigated CT-guided interventions.

Diagnostic and therapeutic CT- guided percutaneous interventions are clinical routine in interventional radiology. Image-guided navigation systems visualize the internal anatomy during interventions in real time not necessitating continuous image acquisition. Although multiple 3D image-guidance devices have been developed and used by several surgical disciplines in the last few years, they have...

Interventional Radiology Robot for CT and MRI Guided Percutaneous Interventions

This paper introduces a new patient-mounted CT and MRI guided interventional radiology robot for percutaneous needle interventions. The 5 DOF robot uses ultrasonic motors and pneumatics to position the needle and then insert it progressively. The needle position and inclination can be registered in the images using two strategically placed fiducials visible in both imaging modalities. A first p...

R The rapid advancement and innovation of image-guided techniques, devices, procedures, and treatments has led to difficulty for individual interventional radiologists and interventionalists to keep pace with new developments. In part for this reason, numerous short industry-sponsored and weekend (1–2 d) training courses have been developed. These courses may last for a portion of a day or seve...
